Apologies for the delay in getting this out to you. We’ve now completed our prescribing planner (attached) and have updated prescribing support articles - Prescribing Module : Welby Innovate
These are the key changes we’ve made:
- Re-organised the Prescribing reports - Getting started with the Clinical Reports : Welby Innovate – there are now 3 essential folders to run (there’s a separate article and video for each) and other folders that are optional
- Combined the Overdue Repeats Pathway, Med Monitoring Checks and other safety features into a Proactive Prescribing Checks protocol for admin staff - How do admin staff run Proactive Prescribing Checks? : Welby Innovate
- Produced a Proactive Med Review Checks protocol for clinicians to run before completing a med review - How do I record medication reviews? How do I use Proactive Med Review checks? : Welby Innovate – this checks for warnings, changes, meds to stop, compliance issues, etc
- Highlighted patients who need urgent follow up and linked follow up from Prescribing Questionnaires to the Follow Up feature in recall. For example, a patient who tells us they are experiencing abnormal bleeding on a HRT questionnaire will be included in prompts to arrange follow up, and in a new report to urgently action
There are two areas of ongoing development that relate to prescribing…
- Supply Restriction – through our prescribing updates, we’ve identified the need for better resources to support the restriction of access to medication where patients aren’t responding to invites. We want to make this work in a consistent, robust and easy to follow way. We’re developing a new template, protocol and process to support this.
- Vaccination Consent – we’re currently testing the use of questionnaires and past vaccinations to get consent before patients are invited and PSDs are added. We’re trialling it for the Covid Spring campaign with a view to rolling it out to all adult immunisation programmes.
If you’re interested in being involved in beta testing either of these, do let us know. As ever, we really appreciate your feedback and input.
