Good to see some of you last week on our pathology follow up webinar. For those who missed it, here’s the recording (just 30 mins for this one) -
Pathology Updates - Follow up-20251001_123347UTC-Meeting Recording.mp4.
Related developments/suggestions…
- A request from the meeting was to build a case finder for Hb variants, i.e. patients who can’t have a HbA1c and need a Frustosamine or Glucose instead. This report is now available:

- If you haven’t yet got a copy of the new pathology planner, you can download it from this article - https://welbyinnovate.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/articles/202000100745-processing-pathology-results
- Every lab in the land seems determined to change their system this year and it leads to some results not being AutoReviewed. If your lab is doing this, we’d recommend turning on all the related rules that you want to use, not just the ones that are currently designed for your lab. E.g. if you’re using a HbA1c rule, turn all HbA1c rules on. There’s no guarantee, but it means there’s a fair chance results will still be filed when the lab makes its changes. If none of them work, let us know and we can develop new rules to work for your lab.
I’ve put a poll on our Facebook group to get your views on ideas for our next webinar. I’m finding it a constructive forum to get feedback from practices and I think its useful for everyone else too, so please join if you haven’t already - Join Our Facebook Support Group
Finally, most of our team will be at the Best Practice conference this week. If you’re going, please come and say Hello! We’d love to meet more of you in person. We’re on stand F32. We’ll do our best to keep an eye on emails while we’re there, and some of the team will be holding the fort, but we may be a little slower than normal to reply.
