March 2025 Update

We’ll look at what you need to do to wrap up the current QOF year and plan for the next one. We’ve developed an invite planner that determines exactly what invites you need to send on what days, based on how you work as a practice. We’ll also look at how you can estimate the capacity you need for the year ahead. General updates

• We’re growing our team and have another full-time staff member starting next week. We'd really appreciate you submitting requests for help using our support site or emailing support@welbyinnovate.co.uk. You can access both from within SystmOne by using the search features box:

• We’ve made some changes in the background to speed things up. The downside is that parts of the system won’t work on temp residents or test patients, but we figure that’s a price worth paying for speed!
• We’re looking to reduce the localisations we offer, but without stopping you from adding additional monitoring for your patients. We’ve developed a way you can easily bulk add monitoring to your patients. This article explains how - How do I bulk add regular monitoring to lots of patients? : Welby Innovate.

Recall

• Report Folders - The folders for invites have become very busy. To make them easier to navigate, we're going to split them into different categories (Questionnaires / Invites / Visits). We'll be making all these changes on 31 March, ready for next QOF year, so you'll need to resist the urge to send any invites that day. The planning spreadsheet should then be a great help in working out what to send and when.
• Changes to monitoring:
  • Learning Disabilities - We recently realised the LD monitoring alert stated the system set up was for an FBC to be checked annually. However, this wasn't configured correctly and, as a result, FBCs will not have been displayed as needed for LD health checks. This led to a review by the Clinical Governance Committee, including a review of the current evidence base for annual bloods for all LD patients. We've subsequently concluded that the only indication consistently referenced in national guidance is an annual TSH for patients with Down's Syndrome. After that, from April, we'll be adjusting the monitoring accordingly. Additionally, and in light of this change, booking prompts will be altered so that when booking in for an LD health check, an NHS Health Check will also be offered if eligible, to support patients in attending. A reminder that individualised annual monitoring can also be set up through the Manage Recall template. Please do contact us if you are concerned and require support in reviewing affected patients.

• Coding Invites - If you haven't already, we recommend coding all your invites for QOF - How do I bulk add QOF invite codes to patients who've been invited? : Welby Innovate - we've also added some extra reports in this folder to code questionnaires that have been sent so you may have some more patients in there to code
• Alcohol Intake - Automated messages regarding Alcohol intake will also be sent to patients whose high weekly intake has been recorded in consultations and questionnaires. Let us know if you'd like that enabled for your practice.

Prescribing

• DOAC dose changes - our protocols now display all the relevant info, add on the recommended new repeat, code the change and inform the patient - DOAC Dosing : Welby Innovate
• Don't lose your patients - At the end of the QOF year, patients who are AR Green / Amber will be reset to AR Blue. We recommend trying to clear as much as possible of their med reviews before year-end. If you're not going to be able to do that, its worth adding these patients to a waiting list so they don't get missed.
• ***Coming Soon*** - Teratogenic drugs - all the resources you need to safely prescribe. You can see some of the work we've already done in the folder "2 Admin to Action" and a new section on Teratogenic drugs.

Pathology

• Blood Pressure targets - after an extensive review of guidelines, we've changed the BP targets our system works to. We've developed a document to explain how the system decides the target - Hypertension Targets.pdf. Please be aware, if you're not using the pathology module, personalised targets won't be factored in. We've also recently become aware that some practices have large numbers of patients with personalised targets coded, some going a long way back. • Statin offer - when auto-generated, it will display the reason for the offer, e.g. QRISK, secondary prevention. We're looking to improve the communications we send to patients and automated messages can display much more patient specific detail like what their QRISK is.
• Pathology Overview template - we're working to standardise how each page works for reviewing results. The top of each page will soon have a drop down of options with notes to record your reasons. These will then appear in the template until the patient is reviewed again.
• FIB4 - We can now auto-calculate FIB4 for patients with NAFLD and recent results needed to calculate it. Let us know if you'd like this turned on for your practice.
• ***Coming Soon*** - systems to bulk offer SGLT2s and initiate and titrate ACE/ARBs
