August 2026 Flu & QOF Webinar Update

Modified on Mon, 17 Aug at 9:51 AM

Flu & Covid Campaign

As many of you will be aware, after completing our flu resources and going through them in the webinar on Tuesday, many practices were contacted later that afternoon by Sanofi to say their order had been cancelled! Thankfully, Seqirus has stock available, and we’re further developing our resources to accommodate more vaccine options.

If you missed the webinar on Tuesday, we spent the first 45 minutes going through the flu resources, particularly the consent model we’re working to. The last 15 minutes were going through the OB004/005 indicators and QOF spreadsheet. Here’s the recording – link to recording. If you want to use our resources for flu this year, you need access to our prescribing module and to complete this form so we can configure it for your practice - Flu & Covid Options

August Updates

Recall

    • 2 stage LD reviews – aimed particularly at those of you who have to complete a health check and action plan. Let us know if you want this enabling for your practice.
    • Messages to get bloods done elsewhere – these include NHS numbers to make it easier for patients.
    • Improvements to monitoring invites – we’ve come across an issue where sending questionnaires as invites for obs could delay invites for bloods. E.g. a patient needing DOAC monitoring could have had messages asking them to submit a weight, and then bloods be due at a later date. This could mean a delay to the invite for bloods or not having 3 distinct invites for the bloods. These patients still appeared in the “R REVIEW” reports, and were picked by the med monitoring checks protocol. We’ve now made a change so that if a patient is sent questionnaires to submit obs and then becomes due for bloods, the system starts again with the first invite. You may notice a few more patients appearing in your first invites as a result.
    • Prolactin monitoring – patients on Chlorpromazine weren’t included for prolactin monitoring when they should have been. This has been rectified and depending on your practice setup and the patient, they may have them done at next annual review, or may trigger a monitoring invite sooner. Very few patients are likely to have been impacted. If you would like to review patients, there is a report under Recall / Monitored Meds Other / *** Review: Antipsychotics - Prolactin may have been missed and now due.

Prescribing

    • Overview template – more options added to code specific reviews
    • HRT reviews – if your practice is configured to say that HRT reviews aren’t included with med reviews, we’ve provided reports you can use to invite those patients. They’re in the folder “3 Admin Actions” in the “INVITE” section.

Pathology

    • Raised Lipids – increased LDL from 2.5 to 3 for suggesting raised lipids. Messages that advise lifestyle changes – we’re planning to add in the numerics that trigger the message so patients have been understanding of why they’re receiving the message, e.g. “Your latest LDL is 3.6, ideally it should be below 3”
    • Weight Management – we’re developing a localisation option for practices who refer to an intermediary service, who then assess patients for the most appropriate weight management support. It will be similar to the current setup but use more generic messaging. Let us know if you want that enabling for your practice once its ready.
    • Lipid pathway – where patients are on multiple statins, e.g. 20mg and 40mg, its possible the system mistook that for a dose increase from 20mg to 40mg. We’ve fixed the issue but its possible a few patients may have been affected. There are reports that are at the top of the folder Welby Innovate Pathology / Lipids that you can use to check on your practice and review any patients who may be affected.
    • *** Coming Soon *** - Update to HbA1c pathway for diabetics that will include questionnaires to offer Metformin and SGLT2s

To continue development in SystmOne, onboard new practices and support existing practices effectively, we’re continuing to grow our team, and in September we’re moving to a new platform for managing support tickets.
