The heart of the prescribing module is the process for managing repeat prescribing, safely and efficiently.
To do this effectively, there are different elements of our systems that need to be in place:
1) Med Review Questionnaires need to be sent regularly
How do I send out Med Review Questionnaires and Invitations?
The sending of these can be automated (i.e. sent in the background whenever someone is in the record) but you may want to review your numbers before you turn that on!
2) Completed med review questionnaires need to be reviewed by clinicians
How do I record medication reviews?
If prescribers reviewing completed questionnaires prefer to work from appointment ledgers or tasks, admin staff can bulk task or add to rotas from these reports:
Adding coding Xa48e AND X74Wh will remove patients from these reports for 4w.
3) Patients wanting or needing to discuss their medication need to be called or invited to attend
If you want to work through a list of patients who need a call, this is the report to use (Please note these reports will only populate if you have told us you want to work in this way)

If you want to invite patients to book a medication review, these the reports to use:

The reports below these main reports provide sub-categories you may prefer to use. The main report will also include patients who need to speak to a pharmacist about their recent results, if you're using our pathology module.
4) Train non-clinical staff to use proactive prescribing checks
Our proactive prescribing check appears on the demographic status alerts whenever our system has identified checks to run before issuing repeat prescriptions.
Prescribing Instructions: Proactive Prescribing Checks : Welby Innovate
This protocol proactively checks whether it is safe for repeat medication to be issued, at the time of issuing and informs them if the patient is for example overdue monitoring, or has medication on repeat that needs reviewing before they are issued.
