June 2026 Update

Hope you're all surviving in the sweltering heat. Various recent updates to make you aware of...

Prescribing
  • Supply Restriction - we've made changes to how this works to make the system more consistent, easier to use and clearer in its documentation. We hope its easier for staff to use. We've recorded videos that provide an overview to how the system works and take you through each stage of the process - How do I restrict medication supply? : Welby Innovate
  • Prompt to ask whether questionnaires have been reviewed is now live by default for all practices - this triggers when a generic med review code is added but there are specific things that should be discussed with the patient, e.g. they've asked to discuss their HRT on a questionnaire. We don't want these things to be missed so they will only be cleared from showing as outstanding if its confirmed that they have  been discussed with the patient.

Pathology
  • Medication Offer Questionnaires - we've changed our questionnaires to consistently offer support from "an appropriate member of the practice team" - this is to reflect the wide range of roles that may undertake this work in different practices
  • Questionnaires related to statins or alternatives - these are all now configured to encourage patients to make a decision and put the onus on the patient to contact the practice if they want to discuss their options. If you still want to proactively invite or call those patients, let us know and we can change your settings so that patients appear in reports to contact or invite

Recall
  • COPD questionnaire now includes advice and a question on inhaler technqiue
  • Request One-Off Tests - Vit D is no longer included in the Long Covid and Chronic Fatigue Blood test groups, but can still be added manually
  • Diabetic / Respiratory Follow-Up - if a patient is due diabetic follow-up and has a diabetes review code added, you'll see a prompt to ask whether the follow up has been completed. The same applies for a respiratory follow up
  • Pre-appointment messages, e.g. please bring a urine sample to your appointment - we've tightened up when these are sent to avoid possible confusion of patients where they've booked an appointment for something unrelated to their invite.
