How do I find out why a patient is in a report?

Modified on Tue, 2 Sep at 4:24 PM

Sometimes you need to know why a particular patient is appearing in a particular report.  Follow these steps to run a report on a particular patient, and work out what code or event in the patient record is causing them to be included in the report ...

  • Retrieve the patient you are interested in.

  • Navigate to the report in Reporting / Clinical Reporting that you want to run on the patient.

  • Right click on the report and select Run on Current Patient.

  • The Report Investigation window will open, with two tabs, one for Failure Reasons and the other is the Complete Evaluation Output.  Click on the Complete Evaluation Output  tab.

  • The very first line in the evaluation will have a green tick if the patient is in the main report, or a red cross if the patient is not.

  • If the patient is in the main report, you can click on the arrow at the left of the report to open up the detail.  If you follow the reports with green ticks you should eventually find the code or event that is causing the patient to be included in the main report.
