How do I review patients who may be eligible for Shingles vaccine?

Modified on Mon, 2 Dec, 2024 at 2:21 PM

It can be time consuming to identify which patients may be eligible for the Shingles vaccine based on being immunocompromised. To speed things up, we've identified a group of patients who may be eligible but review is needed, e.g. because it depends on their medication dose.

To review these patients...

1) Run this clinical report:

2) Show patients and then select output:

3) Pick "Pre-defined report output" and "Review Shingles Eligibility":

4) Click ok and get a coffee / tea while SystmOne pulls all the data together:

You can then see lots of useful data like recent prednisalone or DMARD doses, codes that may suggest eligibilty etc.

5) You can bulk select patients or select by line and add the codes in the report name to either confirm they are, or are not, eligible:

The codes you need are in the report name.

6) If there are patients to review individually, go into the record, open our "Vaccinations" template. Here you can see further relevant information, e.g.:

and record shingles eligibility:

7) If you've recorded the patient is not eligible, they will be removed from the reports for 12m.
