December 2024 Update

Modified on Wed, 15 Jan at 12:21 PM

We’re very conscious that planned changes to national insurance and minimum wage are set to hit practices hard. These are some of the things we’ve been working on to increase efficiencies:

  1. Questionnaires - completing Asthma, COPD, HRT, Contraception and Medication reviews, initiating and titrating medication, and turning full Annual Review appointments into blood tests only
  2. Results - Thousands are now being filed every week using our auto-review rules combined with our pathology module
  3. Reducing tasks – arranging follow up via a few clicks from a clinician, to the patient being booked in, without any phone calls or tasks

To see how this could help your practice, we’re doing a webinar on Tuesday 14 January at 1pm, sign up here - https://events.teams.microsoft.com/event/12be0bfc-bd33-416d-b156-f5f85974ccdf@9e9607b7-90db-4eca-9e7f-e80f2ed8af67

Recall

  • Some of you have fed back that the Recall Overview front screen is too busy for most staff. We’re trialling a simpler approach where the front screen has a lot less info, and all the detailed info is available in the “Manage Recall” page. Let us know if you’d like to try it.

  • We've developed a process for potentially completing COPD reviews via questionnaire. To find out how to start using it -  How do I complete COPD reviews via Questionnaire? :

  • If patients attend for part of their review, need further appointments but nothing is booked, section 5 of the Annual Review invites can be used to chase these patients. More info here - How do I invite Amber patients who need further appointments? :

Monitoring Changes:

  • We’ve removed the annual monitoring requirements for Warfarin, Gabapentin / Pregabalin, Lamotrigine, Prostate Meds
  • We've added monitoring of Bisphosphonates

Pathology

  • We’re adding new auto-review rules at a steady rate. To see what rules are available and how to turn them on for your practice - https://youtu.be/LX8zqhAAKMg

  • There may be occasions where you don't want a result to be auto-reviewed. We've added a new option on the "Request One-Off Tests" template where you can set dates to stop results being auto-reviewed for a patient:

These options would prevent our auto-review rules from being applied to this patient until the new year. If you left the "until" option blank, it would permanently stop results being reviewed for that patient.

Prescribing

  • When initiating / changing Gabaptenin or Pregabalin, you'll see a pop up advising maximum dose, based on latest Creatinine Clearance.

  • Shingles - we've added this to our vaccinations and put in place a process to review patients who may be eligible due to being immunocompromised - How do I review patients who may be eligible for Shingles vaccine? :

As always…
