October 2024 Updates

Pathology

The most exciting development is TPP’s imminent release of their “Pathology Auto-Review Engine” – we’ve now got access to it ourselves and have started building the rules that will go hand in glove with our pathology module. It will massively reduce the human element needed in filing results. If you’d like to be an early adopter / tester of these rules, please do let us know. You can email TPP (SystmOneSetup@tpp-uk.com) with your practice code if you’d like it enabling for your practice and then you can access the rules we’re developing.

In the pathology reports to review, we’ve started to add in options to record when a result is under review, e.g. a task has been sent to a clinician for review.;

This will remove patients from the reports for review for 4w.

Recall

We’re on a mission to reduce tasks! They’re clunky and time-consuming. To that end, we’ve been developing the Follow up template to increase how it can replace tasks. You can see the original setup here - How do I arrange a follow up? : (freshdesk.com), and compare it to the current version to see the changes.

Other updates in recall…

  • We’ve adapted the Asthma Control Questionnaire to be fit for 13-17 year olds. Let us know if you’d like that enabling for your practice.
  • The recall overview now displays a reason for blood tests that can be added to ICE / WebV. This should make it clearer why tests are taken, e.g.

  • We’ve added anti-diabetic medications to the medications that trigger a prompt to ask whether you want to arrange monitoring, in this case HbA1c ~12w later.
  • We’ve developed a new feature that can be used to remove a patient from all invites / recalls, or exclude them from say just blood tests. You can see it on the last page of the Recall Overview but its still in testing so let us know if you’d like it enabling for your practice.

Prescribing

Many of you are using our Vaccinations template and systems to run your flu and covid clinics. The “Give Covid” button now also adds the codes that the System wide template / questionnaires add. Other developments in prescribing…

  • How you request a medication review has changed slightly so you’ve got clearer options and quick space to enter info:

  • We’ve developed an Orlistat prescribing pathway which will calculate the target drop in weight from initiation, ask the patient to submit a weight 3m later, and then work out whether it should continue to be prescribed.
  • ***Coming soon*** – checks on shared care drugs, that latest bloods are within appropriate ranges
  • ***Coming soon*** - follow up Asthma medication changes by scheduling a follow up asthma questionnaire
