Tests for Recall
We recently added Haematinics to the tests you can configure for regular recall. While making this change, an error meant that one-off requests for Haematinics weren’t displaying in the Recall Overview from 2nd to 9th September.
Thank you to the nurse who identified this issue, on 9th which was rectified immediately. Unfortunately, some patients may have had Haematinics missed during this time. We’ve built a report you can use to identify and review any patients who may be affected:
Hopefully the numbers affected shouldn’t be too large (20-30) but we apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Monitoring New or Changes to Medication
We’re changing the way our system identifies new, or changed, medication that needs monitoring. Rather than look at when patients were put on repeat medication, you’ll start to see pop-ups when the system has identified monitoring may be needed, e.g. if you increase Ramipril dose. The prompts trigger when a medication that hasn’t been issued in the last 6m is issued now. You’ll see a pop up like this:
If you pick the options to add this monitoring, the protocol will also allow you to send the patient an invite. If the monitoring is further away, you won’t see that prompt but the patient will then appear in reports to invite for monitoring. If you click “no”, the system won’t invite patients for monitoring. We think this is a more robust approach and gives you more control about what monitoring patients require. As we put this approach in place for medication, we will phase out the approach based on patients being put on repeat medication.
Collective Action
We’re supporting some practices with GP collective action. We’ve built reports to identify patients who need to be referred back to secondary care and to remove certain monitoring from the recall system for those patients. If that’s something we can help you with, please do let us know.
