Managing Messages that failed to Send

In December 2024 there were significant issues with messages failing to send on SystmOne. Unfortunately, messages could still be auto-sent and coded without the patient receiving them.


This means our reports and systems may not send further messages to patients. It's important to review and re-send critical messages and ideally mark in error codes and messages that weren't sent.


1) Navigate to SMS details report:


2) Set dates to review and click "Run Report"

You may find the report finds over 1000 messages that were sent and unacknowledged. If that happens, you'll need to report on narrower date / time ranges.


3) Go to the "Failed to Send" tab and review the messages that weren't delivered

You may find it helpful to order the messages by the message text as that will group appointment reminders together and make it easier to identify messages that need to be resent.
