The COPD Questionnaires work in a similar way to the Asthma Control Questionnaires...
- Reports identify patients who may be suitable for review via questionnaire
- Patients are sent a questionnaire which covers everything that may be need to complete a review
- Answers are interrogated by the system to identify those who definitely need a review appointment and those who might be appropriate for notes based review
Sending out COPD Questionnaires
There are two options for sending out COPD questionnaires:
- Patients who are due to be invited for their review now or soon
- All patients
Processing COPD Questionnaires
Questionnaires should be actioned and filed to the notes. The following day they will then drop into the following reports:
Patients will only be identified as appropriate for a notes based review if the following are true:
- MRC score is 1 or 2
- CAT score <10
- No COPD admissions in the last 12m
- COPD Exacerbations <3
- Patient is happy with how they are currently managing their COPD
To use a protocol to help review the answers, go to the Recall Overview and click on the COPD button:
Pick the option to "Process Completed
The protocol will recommend coding a COPD review and informing the patient:
The option "Code COPD Review and Inform patient" will add a narrative to explain why the COPD review has been coded and bring up a preset to inform the patient. If the patients need other reviews, the message will ask the patient to contact the practice to arrange those.
