Bowel Cancer Screening results that come into GP practices have three possible outcomes:
1) Normal - no action required
2) Abnormal - no action required by the practice as the result is followed up centrally by the screening service
3) No response to invitation - follow up with recommendation to engage with bowel cancer screening
This is the basis of how our AutoReview rule works. To enable the rule and follow up non-responders:
1) Enable the AutoReview rule called "WI | Bowel Screening | FIT | Faecal occult blood result (XaPVj) | File all (use reports to identify non-responders) - Bowel cancer screening programme: faecal occult blood result (XaPVj)"
For detailed instructions, see this article - How do I enable specific Auto-Review rules?
2) Apply the AutoReview rules - How do I Apply Auto Review Rules?
3) Use Clinical Reports to Send Messages to Non-Responders:

NB: If you have the automated sending of the Comms Annex enabled, patients will instead appear in this report, if the message hasn't been sent in the background in the last week since the result came into the practice:

Standard Communication for Non-Responders looks like this:
We have been informed by the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme that you did not return your Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) kit.
We strongly encourage you to take part in this important screening programme. You can find more information about bowel cancer screening here: NHS Bowel Cancer Screening.
If you have not received your screening pack or would like a replacement kit sent to you, please call the helpline on 0800 707 6060.
Kind regards,
