Welcome to the new practices who’ve recently joined us!
Great to see lots of you at the QOF webinar last week – it sounds like it was helpful. Here’s a link to the recording - QOF Webinar Feb 2025.mp4 and here’s the link to download your own version of the QOF spreadsheet - https://bit.ly/QOFSpreadsheet.
The next webinar planned is to look at CQC compliance and how the different parts of our system contribute to that. Do let us know if you’ve got other suggestions!
Communication
We’re all keen to increase electronic methods of communication with patients, particularly given the ever-increasing cost of postage. This message will soon be appearing on all our letters to patients who we’re unable to communicate with electronically:
“Help us stay in touch whilst protecting valuable resources. Instead of letters, we can send you invites and information about your health by text message or email. You will hear from us sooner and can book appointments more easily. If you’d like to receive messages this way, please let our staff know next time you speak to us.”
To find out more about all of this - How do I increase the use of Email and SMS? :
Prescribing
- Automated messaging re medication – we’ve developed the messaging re sick day advice to only trigger when patients are prescribed the relevant medication, and the message includes the relevant medication. We’re also adding automated messages re teratogenic drugs. If you would like all of these enabling for your practice, just let us know.
- Safety checks when medication changes are made to patients on warfarin – you’ll see pop ups if certain meds are changed / titrated / initiated that would likely interact with their warfarin and so the patient should have their INR checked within the following week
- Covid Spring Campaign – these reports are now setup for invites and prompts are live for staff to start booking patients. The free slot search to setup is “Covid Spring Booster”
Pathology
- Titrate Statin Protocol – launch from the Lipids page of the pathology overview:
- this will work out what a patient’s new statin dose should be, add it to the patient repeats, inform the patient, code it all, etc.
- SGLT2s – patients to consider starting SGLT2s are now included in the UE/ACR part of pathology. We’ll also be soon releasing an option to bulk message patients with an offer and all the information they need to be started on an SGLT2. It will work in the same way we do this for statins and other medications.
- *** Coming Soon *** - protocol for process initiating ACE/ARB and titrating up to maximal tolerated dose, without consultations
Recall
- Follow up – we’ve built reports that identify patients who’ve had multiple follow up invites and don’t appear to have responded. These are just below the invite reports.
- Bloods displayed – some labs don’t let individual tests be requested, e.g. calcium or phosphate can only be requested as a bone profile in lincolnshire. To avoid confusing staff, we’re trying to configure the system to display only bloods that can be ordered. If you find that’s not happening in your area, please let us know and we can update it to reflect how your lab works.
